# Terms of service
**Version 2026-08-beta.1 · draft**
These terms cover what this service is, what it is not, and what each of us is
responsible for. What is done with your data is a separate document — the
[privacy notice](/legal/privacy), which is the same text you accepted when you
created your account. There is only one of those, deliberately: two documents
describing the same data handling are two documents that will eventually
disagree, and you would have agreed to only one of them.
> **Draft, and marked as such.** One clause below — governing law — is a
> placeholder, because the jurisdiction this service operates from is still
> being settled. It is left visibly unanswered rather than filled with a
> plausible guess. When it is answered, this document gets a new version and
> you will be asked to accept it.

## 1. What this service is
A dashboard for analysing an options book. It reads market data, reads your
positions if you connect a read-only exchange key or import a CSV, and computes
analysis from them: risk, greeks, scenario outcomes, historical scoring of your
own closed trades, and rule-based suggestions.
## 2. What this service is not
**It does not trade.** It never places, modifies, or cancels an order on any
exchange. There is no code path that could. The exchange keys it reads are
read-only, and it will keep working if you revoke every key you have given it.
Every trade is one you place yourself, on the exchange, deliberately.
**It is not financial advice.** Nothing here is personalised investment advice
or a recommendation to buy or sell anything. The service does not know your
circumstances, your other holdings, your tax position, or your risk capacity.
Its output is data synthesis plus rules you configured, framed generally.
**It is not a broker, an exchange, a custodian, or an adviser.** It holds no
money and no assets. It cannot move either.
**It is beta software.** Analysis can be wrong, and on beta software it can be
wrong in ways nobody has noticed yet. You are the last check before every trade.
## 3. Your account
- You must be **18 or older**.
- One person per account. Do not share credentials.
- Keep your password safe. If you use the credential vault, your passphrase is
not recoverable by anyone here — that is the point of it, and it means
forgetting it costs you the stored keys, not your book.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account.
## 4. Acceptable use
Do not:
- attempt to access another user's data, or to find out whether a particular
person has an account here;
- create accounts in bulk, automate signup, or evade the signup limits;
- probe, scan, or stress the service beyond your own normal use;
- resell, sublicense, or redistribute the service or its output as your own
product;
- use the service to break the law where you are.
**If we suspect abuse, an account can be suspended.** Suspension stops the login
and hides the dashboard; it does not delete anything, and your right to export
your data survives it. Deletion is a separate, irreversible action, and is
described in the privacy notice.
## 5. Your data and your content
Your book, your notes and your settings remain yours. You grant only what is
needed to run the service for you — storing, processing and displaying that data
back to you — plus, **only if you switch it on**, the de-identified aggregate use
described in the privacy notice. Turning that off changes nothing about what the
product does for you.
You can export everything at any time, including while a subscription is lapsed.
## 6. Availability
This is a small service. There is no uptime guarantee, no support SLA, and
maintenance may interrupt it. Planned interruptions will be announced by email
where practical. **Do not build a workflow that requires this service to be
reachable at a specific moment** — in particular, do not plan to rely on it
during an expiry or a market event.
## 7. Money
Pricing and billing are not yet part of the service; the beta is free. When
billing exists it will be introduced in a new version of these terms, and you
will be asked to accept it before anything is charged.
## 8. Ending it
**You** can stop at any time: export your data, then delete your account. Both
are self-service.
**We** can end your access for a breach of §4, or if the service is discontinued.
If the service is discontinued you will be given **notice and time to export**,
not a sudden shutdown.
## 9. Liability
To the fullest extent the law where you are permits:
- The service is provided **as is**, without warranties of accuracy,
merchantability, or fitness for a particular purpose.
- **Trading losses are yours.** The service does not place trades; every
position is one you opened. No output here is a promise about a future
outcome, and past scoring of your own trades is not a prediction.
- Liability for anything arising out of the service is limited to what you have
paid for it in the preceding twelve months — which, during the free beta, is
nothing.
Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for
fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
## 10. Changes to these terms
Versioned, like the privacy notice. A material change means you are asked to
accept the new version before continuing; an editorial one — a typo, a clearer
sentence — carries forward. Which kind a change was is recorded rather than
argued about later.
## 11. Governing law
> **Not yet stated.** The jurisdiction this service operates from has not been
> settled, and naming one here before it is decided would be a guess presented
> as a term. It will be stated in a later version, and that will be a material
> change.
Until then, disputes are to be raised directly — reply to any email you have
received from the service, or use the Privacy section in Settings — and will be
answered.
